John Casher, APM
President, Casher Associates, Inc.
Jon Casher has worked with the Institute of Management and Administration (IOMA) since 1996, where he earned his APM (Accounts Payable Manager) certification. He is a subject matter expert for the IOMA/TAPN Accounts Payable Certification Programs. He also provides consulting and extensive in-house workshops through IOMA's Advisory Services.
Jon has written two books, over 50 articles and currently speaks at over 20 conferences, web casts, and audio conferences each year. He has been a guest lecturer on information technology and entrepreneurship at the Harvard Business School, M.I.T.s Sloan School of Management and Boston University. In addition, he was a lecturer at Boston University and Northeastern University where he taught graduate courses in Computer Science.
Jon is the co-founder and Chairman of RECAP, where he is responsible for strategic planning and overall direction. He is also the President of Casher Associates, Inc., consultants in project management, process management and information technology.
Jon has a B.S. in Operations Research from Cornell University, a S.M. in Management from M.I.T.s Sloan School of Management, and has completed course work towards a Ph.D. in Management also from M.I.T.s Sloan School of Management.
Andrew Dzamba, APM
Editor-in-Chief, AP Publications, Institute of Management and Administration
Andrew Dzamba is the editor of IOMAs Managing Accounts Payable newsletter and the AccountsPayable360.com Web site and Daily AP eAlerts. Before becoming an editor he worked for 15 years in corporate accounting and finance, primarily at Time Warner. Throughout his career, Andy has edited and written articles and publications on a wide range of business and financial topics, including accounting, tax, management, and technology for such publishers as IOMA, Prentice Hall, Simon & Schuster, Harcourt Brace, Aspen Publishers, LRP Publications, and the Bureau of Business Practice.
Andy has written or edited IOMAs Complete Guide to Accounts Payable Best Practices, AP Policy and Compliance Guide, T&E Policies and Procedures Guide, and the AP Department Benchmarks & Analysis research report. He is part of the team of experts that oversees the IOMA/TAPN AP Certification Program and is a certified Accounts Payable Manager (APM). He holds a masters degree from the Columbia University Business School.
Steve Iannarone, APM
Accounts Payable Consultant
Steve Iannarone is hired by top companies to implement AP process improvements and automation to streamline AP and reduce costs. He is currently implementing SAP at Ace Hardware Inc. Previously, he served as AP Manager at Tellabs Operations, Inc., a global manufacturer of telecommunications hardware and software transport services. There, Steve was responsible for all North American operations end-to-end payables processes and also worked on expense report automation, workflow implementation, and procurement process improvement.
In other assignments, Steve has implemented invoice imaging and workflow at WM Wrigley Jr. Co.; shared services at United Stationers and RR Donnelley Logistics; payment process improvements at McCain Foods USA, WMS Gaming, and Playboy Enterprises Inc. Also at Playboy, Steve implemented ERS software and automated expense reporting. At AGI, Inc., Steve created the procurement documentation for ISO 9000 certification; and at Baker & Taylor Entertainment he automated co-op advertising processes along with EDI invoice processing
Ted Klein, APM
Education Director, IOMA Accounts Payable Programs
Currently, Ted Klein owns his own financial consulting firm and has been assisting many industry leaders in both the public and private sectors to implement and/or upgrade their financial processes. He also teaches an accounts payable certification course for the Institute of Management & Administration (IOMA).
In 2002, Ted retired from the General Motors Corporation after completing a distinguished career in finance. During his tenure at GM, he held many managerial positions in finance, including: accounts payable, corporate benchmarking, payroll, expense reporting, budgeting, and internal control. In 1998 he lead the cross-functional team which consolidated the General Motors purchasing, fleet and travel card programs into a one-card solution known as the GM Corporate Card. The year he retired, Ted and his team were presented the GM Presidents Award for their contributions to GM with this endeavor.
Pam Miller, APM
Director Accounts Payable, BMC Select
One of the most popular speakers at IOMAs AP conferences, Pam Miller is Director of Accounts Payable at Building Materials Holding Corporation, where she has been managing the AP Department since 1995. She is an IOMA AP Manager of the Year and is a training instructor in the IOMA/TAPN AP certification program. She was the first candidate to earn AP certification as an Accredited Payables Manager (APM) with distinction.
Although Pam earned an AB cum laude from Barnard College of Columbia University, she began her accounts payable career in a lumberyard and worked her way up. She views AP as a manufacturing process invoices - the raw material and payments - the finished product. She says she likes to think that her department is on the leading edge in implementing new AP processes.
