Payer- or Biller-Centric: Which EIPP Approach Is Best for A/P Depts?

With the Gartner Group estimating that well over half of all invoices will be delivered electronically by 2005, the issue is rapidly moving to the top of most accounts payable agendas. However, electronic invoice presentment and payment (EIPP), is not about the payment, says Hamish Forrest, Harris Bank’s director of e-commerce solutions, dispelling a common myth. It’s about the process. Speaking at IOMA’s Advanced Accounts Payable Institute Forrest described the two basic electronic EIPP models and evaluated the advantages and disadvantages of each.
