New Bill Cracks Down on 1099 Workers

Top Democrats on the House Ways and Means Committee have introduced legislation (H.R. 5804) designed to cut down the number of employees who can be classified as Form 1099 independent contractors. It also increases fines for filing incorrect information returns and repeals “Section 530” relief.
